Heading to Boca’s Beaches? Gatehouses Stop Taking Cash October 1

Before You Go
Effective date: October 1, 2026. Accepted payment methods at City of Boca Raton beach-park gatehouses: credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Cash will no longer be accepted. Valid existing beach-parking permits remain unaffected and do not require any change.
West Boca residents planning a trip to Boca Raton’s beaches should pack a card instead of cash. Starting October 1, 2026, City of Boca Raton beach-park gatehouses will stop accepting cash for parking, according to a city announcement.
The gatehouses will accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The change applies to the city-operated beach parks where gatehouse attendants collect parking fees.
What stays the same
Valid existing beach-parking permits are unaffected by the change. Residents who already hold a valid permit do not need to take any action or change how they pay.
A note on resident permits
City of Boca Raton beach-parking permits are tied to city residency requirements. A West Boca mailing address does not automatically qualify a household for a city-resident parking permit. Residents who are unsure whether they qualify should check the city’s official parking and permit information before assuming eligibility.
MyWestBoca.com is not publishing parking prices, fee changes or permit-eligibility details beyond what the city has announced. Beachgoers should confirm current rates and permit rules on the city’s official website before visiting.
